The Third GETshow Competition of Young Stage Lighting Designers to Start

Following the second GETshow Cup in 2024, the much-anticipated third version is starting soon!

Co-organizers:The Stage Art Department of the Central Academy of Drama, The Stage Art Department of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, The Stage Art Department of the Beijing Dance Academy, The Stage Art Department of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, The School of Cross-Media Arts of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Guangdong Dance and Drama College, Guangdong Performance Industry Association, Guangdong Stage Art Research Association, and Guangdong Audio-Visual and Lighting Sci-tech Promotion society.

Objectives

The purpose of this competition is to nurture new talents in the industry, support the development of young stage lighting designers and bring the younger generation together. It aims to explore the frontiers of stage lighting design, integrate industry resources to empower young talents, and further showcase their new styles in the new era.



Top ten works in previous GETshow Cups


In 2025, Industry Association of South China Entertainment Equipment (SCEE)will continue to leverage the GETshow platform, join hands with top domestic professional colleges, industry associations, well-known directors, and leading enterprises. The goal is to to foster innovation among young talents, create collaboration opportunities, and encourage their active participation in cultural industry development, thereby injecting strong momentum into the community of young stage lighting designers in our country.

The third GETshow Cup will continue to uphold the principle of openness, fairness and justice.


The competition jury, consisting of members with rich professional knowledge, practical experience, and industry influence, will evaluate works from academic, market application, and future perspectives. They aim to select outstanding, innovative designs, expand the scope of stage lighting and foster the integration of technology and art. They will identify the Top Ten Works for both student and professional categories.

An authoritative competition with high recognition and value

SCEE has always attached great importance to nurturing new talents in the industry. This competition will collaborate with renowned professional institutions and industry associations to provide a platform for young talents to communications and exchange ideas with professionals and enterprises in this industry. Every young stage lighting designer is welcome to participate in the competition!

Nominated participants for the Top Ten Works will receive a prestigious certificate and will be invited to attend GETshow 2025 where they can experience the latest products, technologies, and applications in the performing arts equipment industry. They can also participate in the Thousand-Person Gala Awards Ceremony, where they can engage directly with industry experts, renowned directors, and leading companies.

2025GETshow will be held in Area B of the Canton Fair Complex from February 24 to 27, 2025! The total exhibition area is about 130,000 square meters, where you can explore a comprehensive range of products from this industry, including world-renowned professional lighting, audio, LED, conference systems, laser equipment, stage effects, stage peripheral equipment and so on.

The third GETshow Cup in 2025, as one of the key events during the GETshow, will works as a platform for communications and exchanges within the industry.
